How does Thera-Clean work?
THE SCIENCE:
The basic science involves the formation and delivery of billions of negatively charged bubbles that are primarily less than 1/3 the size of a red blood cell. The dynamics of these bubbles allows them to attract and remove organic matter and debris or to have substances attached to the outer surface for delivery. Globally microbubbles are being researched and used for cleansing, sterilization, anti-cancer drug delivery and other applications.
HOW DO MICROBUBBLES COMPARE TO MEDICATED SHAMPOOS?
Micro bubbles work on a much deeper level than any soaps or shampoos. They offer a whole new concept of clean skin. This means the microbubble therapy will enhance the efficiency of any other form of “treatment”. Any medication whether administered in the form of a shampoo or orally will function much better due to improved pore and hair follicle condition. This is why the system is being used so extensively in veterinarian hospitals in Japan.
OUR MISSION:
Thera-Clean has worked diligently to now operate as an FDA registered company and make FDA compliant products. Under U.S. FDA Veterinary registration for our units as INDICATION FOR USE: The Thera-Clean Microbubble System is indicated for use in hydrotherapy to relieve pain and itching and as an aid in the healing process of inflamed and traumatized tissue, and it serves as a setting for removal of contaminated tissue.
Thera-Clean’s patented microbubble technology provides a previously unavailable level and depth of skin cleaning. The microbubbles enter and remove debris and contaminants from the dermis, hair follicles and pores often the source of recurrent infection. Moreover the reduction in inflammation and itch reduces self-trauma and improved recovery. Further, our microbubbles have been shown to remove pathogenic bacterial biofilm as well as increasing dissolved oxygen content in the cleaning water both of which enhance the effectiveness of antibiotics and skin healing.
Chronic ear infections, pyoderma, folliculitis, atopic allergies, flea allergy dermatitis, skunk odour and mange have all been shown to benefit from the addition of microbubble cleansing to conventional therapy.
How the process works?
THE GOLDEN RULE:
THE 1ST BATH “EXPOSES” EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO COME OUT OF THE FOLLICLE, BUT IT’S THE 2ND AND 3RD BATH WHERE THE “REPAIR” STAGES REALLY GET STARTED.
THREE…TWO…ONE:
That is the formula that the majority of The Thera-Clean Army have figured out works best for pets that suffer with skin problems. THREE baths in the first week, TWO baths in the second week, and ONE bath in the third week.
It’s that first week where we want to go on attack mode with our deep cleaning and so therefore we do THREE baths in those first 7 days. Then we graduate down to TWO baths in the second week as less and less debris is coming out of the skin. Then finally in the third week we go down to just ONE bath.
Evaluate after that last bath in the third week as we may not need to do anymore and the skin is back to clean & healthy. If the dog is making improvements but you can tell more needs to be done than keep going. We suggest ONE bath per week if you do need to keep going.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE BATHS - DOGS WITH NO SKIN PROBLEM
Dogs with no skin issues can also enjoy Thera-Clean’s benefits.
Thera-Clean sessions can be used as an add-on to your traditional bath.

SENSITIVE SKIN / MINOR SKIN CASES (oily & greasy skin/coat, flakes, hot spots)
First session: Pre-shampoo rinse followed by a 30 minute Thera-Clean bath.
Second Session - Should be scheduled within 3 days of the first bath. 20 Minute bath, with the use of one repairing enzyme.
Third Session - Scheduled within 5 days of the second bath. 20 minute bath, with the use of one repairing enzyme
Evaluate after third session.
SEVERE SKIN CASES (atopic dermatitis, hot spots, pyodermas, mange etc)
Dogs with severe cases will follow the 3, 2, 1 method.
3 baths within the first 7 days.
2 baths in the second week.
1 bath in the third week
Evaluate after the third week. If skin is not back to being fully healthy - then you can you continue with one bath a week.
